From Lisbon to Brisbane, Brooklyn to Berlin, Venice to Santa Barbara, containers are popping up everywhere for the arts.  Today we look at a wide range of different container projects that convert containers into museums, artist space, theater space and much more.  We even have two - yes 2! - traveling container museums!

Check out these links to read more about them!

First up is the Village Underground Lisboa.  It is under construction but will provide workspace for artists as well as other office space and a cafeteria.  Artists and start-ups can rent tables by the month, day or hour that include workspace, wi-fi and cleaning services.

Next up is the Anywhere Theatre Festival is Brisbane, Australia.  It is an annual festival of various shows that are in non-traditional venues.  Shipping containers are up there with a swimming pool, book store and parking ramp for venues.

Containers are featured in various mobile museums as well!  There is the Flash Forward Festival in Boston, the Nomadic Museum has traveled across the globe with different exhibits, and the Musée Mobile which has traveled in France and Africa.  Containers have also provided additional exhibit space in Santa Barbara.

There is the PLATOON Kunsthalle in Berlin that provides space for events and workshops.

The drive-through Museum of Mystery in Seale, Alabama is both a museum and a gallery made from cargo containers.

But to full immerse yourself in the arts - the container guitar.  The CargoGuitar lets you play the guitar from inside it.

Keep those creative ideas coming and share the creative uses for containers that you have seen!
