A Florida man turned 12 cargo containers into a home.  He designed it to withstand both Florida heat and hurricanes.  The container has a garage and a greenhouse.  This green home generates more power than his home uses, so he is actually selling power.  They interview his architect too who brings up some of the structural components to keep in mind when planning out your container home. I really like this video for talking about the nuts and bolts of making a container home.  The only correction I have is that the homeowner says that the containers would have been “melted down” if he hadn’t turned them into a home.  That is not correct.  They would have been sold to someone else who wanted containers.
