Domestic Containers
Domestic containers are containers primarily used by the rail inside the United States. While the smallest (45’) are used for international shipping, they provide an alternative to standard international shipping containers.
Domestic containers come in both aluminum and steel. They vary between 8’ and 8’6” wide and are all 9’6” high.
Domestic containers are not as plentiful as international containers and are not available in all markets at all times. In particular, the 53' containers are relatively new to the market and are available only in select cities.
